Birthday bash

Birthday bashes have lost its common sense to me. What's more common than going to the birthday girl's / boy's house at midnight, bringing a cake, singing happy birthday? Blergh.

In my school, the birthday "surprise" tradition consists of bringing -or dragging, to be presice- the birthday girl (well, 'girl' because mh school is an all-girls-school) to the volley court or post office building (next to my school), with eyes-closed; and here comes another cliche: singing happy birthday, giving birthday cake, pouring her with flour / other things (but i guess it is prohibited now in my school).

It's just another overused tradition. What is the point of surprise when you already know what comes next?

For me, birthday presents should be intimate. It should depict the person most, or at least suit him / her. Personalized presents are usually better as long as it doesn't end up in trash. And if you can't think a better plan than the overused surprise, maybe you don't know the person well enough. In this case, this person doesn't deserve to get the special present (yet). ;)

My latest birthday surprise was simple, yet perfect. It was REALLY a surprise because it was long after my actual birthday. They gave me self-made chocolate cake and java jazz ticket pass! 😄

Unfortunately, it wasn't captured well because it was during school time so we couldn't use a more proper device (school forbids us to use any electronic device during school time). Here's the only photo of the presents I have, with only half the cake (the other half was eaten ☺).

Keprihatinan terhadap miskinnya optimisme di negeri ini

(dibuat saat Try Out Sosiologi kedua, 16 Februari 2012)

Disini aku berdiri,
dihempas badai keputusasaan
Aku masih kuat berdiri,
malah mencoba berlari
ke tempat yang konon semu

Dinginnya malam seakan menyuruhku diam
Tapi aku tak mau,
demi sekeping yang kutemukan di sisi jalan

Bukan utopia yang kutuju
Kudengar seorang kawan pernah kesana,

Harapan

(Tak kah kau pernah dengar cerita keping itu?
Padahal kuhafal kisahnya sampai muntah
Mengapa tak juga kau genggam dia?)

Looking back at what left...

It's surely a huge thing...

If only I followed that stream, I would've flowed to the tremendous ocean by now.

No regrets, I have chosen to settle down on this delightful river bank.

It's not like that...

There's ought to be something besides twitter.

1) I'm not losing the argument, I just don't want to talk with you, or even to see / hear your name ever again.

2) I'm not having a skill decadence; I'm just following the way I want to be, doing what I should've been doing long time ago. I know I'm out of the track, but the track is just don't belong to me. I've got to take another route.

New Project!

Hey! It's been so long since I last posted something here. Recently, I'm busy with school stuffs (about 1,5 month till the last day of school so it's kinda hectic).

I'm gonna share my latest song here. I made it in one of my exams and just did the recording process today. I'm sorry for the bad quality and mainly for my voice, I'm not a singer after all ;)

Actually this song is a bit different with my usual type of music. Well, I hope you enjoy it :)

Click here to listen to Fly Away

Here is the lyric:

Fly Away

Look above
see the flocks of birds
gently, fly mildly
on their way to what they call home

I spent months and years
waiting for someone to come
half across the world
come back here
come back here, to love

Sky might turn red
pigeons return home

Fly, fly away
don't you come back
if you're gonna go again

Stay, stay right here
remember your gravity
home's still calling your name

"She is my person. If I murdered someone, she is the person I'd call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor."
