Singapore Journal 3

Today is a very unproductive day for me. I woke up at 9 and I left home after 12. There's a big rain today. Singapore became very wet and I got so wet too!

Today's destination: Nanyang Technological University, which is far far away. I was accompanied by kak tiara today because she doesn't have any class today. I went to a mall in boon lay first before going to NTU because I have to buy sandals. My shoes was fulled of water!

Art Design and Media Campus @ NTU

NTU is really really far and located in Singapore surburb. So basicly the campus was built in the hills area. We looked around and I got veryyy tired. I didn't find any shuttle bus that brings us around, so we walked, that's why. I was lost in the engineering campus. And we can't pass by because there's 4 floors high hill beside the campus. But finally we found the way out. Afterall, the campus is sooooo cool!

After that, kak tiara and I went to Marina Bay Sands to pick Divi up. She was there to wait for Justin Bieber. I was a bit shock of beliebers that come up along the way to another country just to see him, pay and expensive ticket just to watch JB - oh come on, I mean, JB? - and plus wait for him ALL DAY LONG. It's just a waste of time for me. I'll tell you much more on the next post.

I looked around and yeah, marina bay sands was okay. I'm not saying it's not good. I think it's okay because I can't buy anything in the stores there. It's just too expensive :p

I was back into the apartment at 6 and I wasn't going anywhere till 9. And at 9 I went to Mustafa Centre to buy things. Well, Mustafa is super big and they sells anything, like ANYTHING in ANY BRAND.

That's the end of my solo trip to Singapore :)

Singapore Journal 2

Here I am taking some rest (again). I'm having matcha ice cream in marcle slab creamery (just found it) and it tastes sooo good! And get much better to sit down :p I'm now in a new mall in Bugis, again, i forget what the name is.

I got so freakingly tired today. I left the apartment at 11 and I'm all alone again. My first destination is Singapore Institute of Management.

A bit far, I took a stop in Dover station, and continue my trip by bus. It was the first time for me to got in Singapore bus ALONE. I mean, MRT is easy, but buses? It's kinda hard for the very first time, and the tracks are so unfamiliar for me. So I was like watching the bus tracks and look carefully for the bus stops.

SIM campus building

Anyway I think Singapore isn't as discipline as it was. People tresspasses anywhere and I found one or two litters on the streets. Well, I didn't see that kind of things on my last visit.

SIM was good. It doesn't as big as SMU but it's okay. I didn't meet the admission person, but I got A LOT of books that full my backpack.

Then I go ahead to Clementi Station to go to National University of Singapore. I got a lil bit confused on finding the right bus. I think I mistyped the direction. I felt so hungry that I decided to go somewhere, and Thank God there's a mall!

I only bought one bread and eat it while walking. I was earlier for like one and half hour than my prediction. So I walked around the mall. It was good. and oh! I heard krazy song on one of the store there, I'm super hyper! LOL! I came in to the store just to hear the song. I miss dancing! :p

Finish walking on the mall, I continue my trip to NUS. I was so amazed that I'm about to cry. Yea, I know that sounds silly, but that's the fact! .__.

Mochtar Riadhy Building - NUS Business

Kent Ridge NUS Campus Map

NUS is very big that we have to take buses to get from one campus to another. Firstly, I went to the business school (fyi, the building name is m
ochtar riady). I saw a banner saying NUS Business School got #23 WORLDWIDE! WOW!

I asked the admission person and she is very informative. She greeted me very nicely. I was explained for almost everything and I was given some guide book - I haven't read it yet. She told me to meet another admission person in university hall. I got a lot of info there.

I was amazed by the view ;)

Yong Siew Toh - Conservatory of Music

Finished my campus trip on 4 pm and I went straight away to Bugis! I got so much stuffs that I bought there. Fyi, I got so many books from SIM and NUS today and that makes my belongings become soooooo heavy. By the way, I found the hand warmer here!! I've been looking for it in Jakarta but I can't find it. So I just bought it right away ;)

After strolling aroung Bugis, I decided to go to Orchard - again. I was confused on going to Vivo or orchard. But then I think there's nothing I can purchase on Vivo. I wanna go to orchard because I wanna know what The Hereen's like. It was mentioned everywhere on Singapore book I read. Well, I'm disappointed when I come in. It was so small and I can't find anything there .__.

So I walked around orchard and entered - I think - 3 malls. There's a mall I don't even remember the name that I visited. It was a good looking mall from the outside, but it was very weird inside. But I saw breakdance community, modern dance community, and a wall climbing community. And I saw a store selling a glass piano miniature I've been looking for! It's so cute but it's a bit expensive .__.

I feel like shopping but I'm not a shoppaholic, so I find that I'm very picky. So I didn't buy many things actually. But I've spent $110 in 2 days! oh no!

I just found out I visited many malls on this 2 days. I visited 11 malls! wow!

Singapore Journal 1

Hey! Here I am now in Singapore! :D

So I'm having a solo trip here to visit some universities.

I arrived today at 8.05 am Singapore time, was picked up by Kak Tiara, my cousin who studies here. We had a breakfast on changi's Burger King. Then we came to her apartment. Well, I think her apertment is very cozy :p

Kak Tiara showed me a website named gothere.sg. It's so cool! It guides you wherever you want to go in Singapore. I'll surely get lost without it .__.

I decided to left the apartment at 11 am (after an hour spending my time studying the map trough gothere.sg of course :P)

First destination: Singapore Management University. I was a lil bit confused in MRT anyway, but finally I successfully got there! :)

Lee Kong Chian - School of Business @ SMU

The campus was so big and cool! Unfortunately they don't provide a single tour, so i just came by and asked for some informations. (Fyi, the picture above is only one of 6 campuses there plus 1 library building and 1 administration building) SMU also have an underground level that connects the SMU complex, plus connects them directly to the MRT station. cool!

Oh well, way before, I arrived in SMU at 12.30 and they're having lunch time. They told me to get back after 2. I looked for any nearest mall and I found Plaza Singapura. I walked around and had some lunch there. The mall is average, quite good mall :p

Okay, then at 2 I went to SMU again, yea, so I've told you before what it's like. I walked around the area and I was amazed by the buildings surround it.

Next to SMU is The Cathedral of Singapore, and near them is Singapore Art Museum. I walked by and i found Fort Canning Park in front of SMU! The park was great! Next to Fort Canning Park there's National Museum of Singapore. The building was magnificent but i think Indonesian museum are much better. I once get lost in the Fort Canning Park but i could find the right way :p

Fort Canning Park

I found out that SMU is very near to NAFA (Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts) and SOTA (School of The Arts) - (later I found out that they're near to orchard too!). I walked to find NAFA and SOTA too. I thought NAFA was super cool, but I was wrong. It looks like an old apartment to me. SMU was so much better.

SOTA was a bit hard to find for me, but then i found it. And i was speechless. It was BIG and super cool! I just like I want to go inside! i noticed SOTA is going to have a open house on April 30th. Kyaaa!

Campus 1 @ NAFA

School Of The Arts

It was a tiring journey. I've been spending like 4 hours walking around Bras Basah. I didn't take any stop until I arrive in Clarke Quay. Clarke Quay was out of my track actually, but I don't know why I always love Clarke Quay. Basicly, Clarke Quay is a place that has a restaurant row beside the singapore river. I waited there waiting for Kak Tiara to finish her class and get dinner together. I still have 2,5 hours seeing around in Clarke Quay.

Clarke Quay!

Unfortunately I was way too early to go there that almost no store were opened. I decided to go ahead to orchard, and i finally tasted the Orchard $1 Ice cream again!! :D

I met Kak Tiara and we waited for Divi for like 1 hour because we couldn't contact her. we took a dinner in P.S. Cafe at 8.30. The cafe is located in Harding Road, a place that i have never reached before.

I ordered a unusual menu that I can't even remember the name. Actually, I have never heard of that food name, and I picked ngasal-ly. Well, i got a bit shock when it came to my table. It was an Bolognaise Eggplant. TERONG. I'm totally okay with the Bolognaise, but how the hell they made a TERONG as a main course. This is just too weird. Ah I should've took the photo of the terong. Okay, whatsoever with the eggplant .__.

Lastly, I went back to the apartment by taxi, and i don't know why I was fascinated by singapore's public transportations :p

and... see you in my next post! :)
